Task One

Part 1: Who were the Ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses?
​Begin by watching the short video below about the Greek gods and goddesses. 


​Discussion Questions: in the form "Who Were the Ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses," answer the following questions. You can find the form in Google Classroom in the section called WebQuest Tools.
  • Which Ancient Greek gods and goddesses did you know about before watching this video? What gods and goddesses are new?
  • Which powers of the gods and goddesses did you find most interesting? Why?

part 2: Research your Ancient Greek God or Goddess

After you and your partner select a god or goddess, you will be using online resources to learn about the family history, personality characteristics, and powers that he/she possesses! Below you will find websites that include information about the gods and goddesses. Check out each site and search for your assigned god or goddess. You will need to use your online research skills to search for and find the information you are looking for. See the list below for exactly what you need to find out about your god or goddess. 

What do we need to research?
Working with your team, it is your job to find the following information about your god/goddess:
  1. Powers - what powers does your god/goddess have? What do they control in the human world?
  2. Symbols - every god/goddess has a symbol that represents them and their powers. What symbols does your god/goddess have?
  3. Claim to Fame - complete the following statement about your god/goddess: God of ____________ OR Goddess of ___________
  4. Family History - who are the parents and siblings of your god/goddess?
  5. Roman Name - every Greek god has a Roman name in Roman mythology. What is the name of your Greek god in Roman mythology?
  6. Weaknesses - what are the weaknesses of your god/goddess? What emotions or attitudes make your god weak?
